I Lost Weight Eating Ninja Creami Recipes

Imagine eating delicious, nutritious ice cream every day and losing weight at the same time. I did it as a part of a healthy diet and lost 18+ pounds. I am now only 4 pounds away from my goal weight.

If anyone asks me, what is your favorite food, hands down, it is ice cream. At the end of 2024, I was overweight. My weight sits right around my mid-section, pushing up on a hernia. It would hurt bad enough I could even stand up sometimes.

So the weight was impacting my health and overall well-being. Tired of being miserable, I decided to do something about it. So I did what I had done my whole life. I joined WW.

Now, I am not bagging on WW, it has worked for me in the past. But something was not clicking this time. The idea that I could eat all of these "free foods" was simply not working. I did not lose weight and I felt like all I did was worry about what I was putting in my mouth. I certainly could not eat ice cream every day.

So I started to watch some YouTube videos to see how to use the new program. That's when I stumbled across a video from a woman who quit WW and started counting macros instead. That video opened the door for me to research and eventually adopt a macro-based calorie counting diet.

Around the same time, I also started seeing videos from influencers doing WW Creami Recipes. At the time, I did not have the Ninja Creami, but the seed was planted. Spoiler alert, I do not get my Creami until February of 2025!

Now, before you stop reading thinking counting macros and calories is too hard, think again. There are apps these days that do al the work. But before we get into that, let;s talk about Macros and what I learned. I am not a nutritionist or diet expert, so what I talk about are simply my opinions and what I learned.

Macros consist of fat, carbohydrates and protein. Essentially, you want to have a balance of a certain ration of each in your diet and of course, to lose weight, eat less calories than your body consumes. That is the easiest, most direct way to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight.

It simply made sense. I did fear my days if eating ice cream on the regular were over. I had somehow thought the ice cream was how I gained all of the weight, as I liked to eat it daily. And while I a sure it contributed to the weight, I would later learn there was no smoking gun. It was simple. I was a carb addict!

One of the staples of my diet was rice. I literally ate it daily and a very generous portion. Along with fruits, ice cream and a whole host of carbohydrates, leaving little room for protein. In fact, once I started counting my macros (fats, carbs and protein), it was easy to see why I had gained the weight.

That's when I started tracking my calories and my macros. Take a look at the chart below, which shows the journey once I started counting macros.

Below is me at about 147 pounds. While not a lot overweight, it did have an impact on my energy. My weight also tends to be around my waste, so that left me not feeling great about how my clothes were fitting. I rarely am overweight, so not even sure how I let things get out of control but I had a guess...

My LOVE for ice cream!

Yup, I love ice cream. It is my favorite indulgence and I could eat it every day. in fact, that is what I was doing. I did not realize it at the time, but it was not the only thing that had my weight creeping up.

So, I decided it was time to get back on a program.

Initially, everyone loses weight on a new program if you are being restrictive. This is the water weight from cutting out high-processed foods which contain salt. As everyone does, I lost the first 5 pounds easily, just restricting my calories. But in that restriction, one of the first things that had to go was ice cream. I simply did not have enough calories at the end of the day.

I initially joined a program I had used in the past, but it was simply not working past that initial five pounds. I am a researcher when something strikes my interest, so I started watching videos and learning about macros - fat, protein and carbs. I immediately started to understand things as I started tracking my macros.

I was simply not eating enough protein and way too many carbs.

Once I started counting my daily macros, it was obvious I needed about four times as much protein. Now I like meat, but eating that much every day was going to be tough. And, I was on a mission to be healthier, so the food I wanted to consume needed to be fresh as well.

What I learned was - rice was also one of my pain points, as I tended to use it as a go-to. I learned it was a filler and mistakenly thought it kept me full. But that is not the case. Protein is a better filler and will satiate me longer. So I had to step up my protein game.

In my quest to learn about protein, I stumbled on some videos about creating protein ice cream using the Ninja Creami!

The rest is history as they say. Now, I eat well every day, get a ton of protein and my carbs consist mainly of fresh fruits and vegetables. And I eat ice cream most days and sometimes twice in a day. Healthy, protein Ninja Creami recipes have changed my life.

Below is a picture of me in August 2025 after a conference I spoke at. Not only do I look healthier, I feel amazing. And, my self confidence is certainly much higher, now that I feelbetter about the way I look. The key to healthy balance is having a lot of healthy, high protein Ninja Creami recipes for my daily consumption and only treating myself to the higher carb (high sugar) treats once a week. This not only helped me shed those 18+ pounds to date, it also is helping me keep them off.

My daily go-to recipe is the QUEST Vanilla Ninja Creami recipe. It is the base for so many combinations, I never get bored. It is high in protein and super healthy. My weeky sweet indulgence treat (still very healthy) is my Pineapple Dole Whip Ninja Creami recipe.

I am still on a journey to better health and wellness but the Ninja Creami and counting macros has really made a huge impact in my life. I am grateful for finding both. I am always experimeting with new recipes, which will be added on this site.

Enjoy the recipes.
