Macros are simply carbohydrates, fat and protein. They are a measure of sorts that help us understand our calorie intake and have helped me lose weight, plus get healthy. I am going to share what I know about them but I am by no means an expert. This is new to me and I wanted to share with those interested.
- Carbohydrates - 4 calories per gram
- Protein - 4 calories per gram
- Fat - 4 calories per gram
Seems simple right? Well, I thought so too. Until I realized how many things I loved to eat fell into the carb and fat column, creating a high-calorie diet that left me hungry most of the time. You see, protein is the macro with the highest feeling of being full. The more protein we consume, the fuller we feel.
That;s not to say we should only eat protein. We need a balance.
